EJC - About

The European Jazz Conference (EJC) is the most important annual meeting of jazz professionals in Europe, and in particular of producers, presenters and jazz support organisations. What was the General Assembly of the Europe Jazz Network, from 2014 became the European Jazz Conference and it is opened to everyone wishing to participate, upon registration.

For the year 2015, the city of Budapest was selected to host the European Jazz Conference between 24 and 27 September. The Conference is organised by the Europe Jazz Network and the Budapest Music Center, a music landmark of the city founded by trombone player and academy professor László G?z in 1996.

The European Jazz Conference is a unique event, the only one of its kind in Europe, centered on building relationships between jazz professionals in Europe, developing new projects and artistic collaborations, sharing expertise and getting up to date with the newest management and programming trends in Europe.

Moreover, the Conference is about learning about jazz scenes and best practises from all around the world, including countries beyond Europe.

The theme for the 2015 Conference is “Make it Happen”, with a focus on positive and concrete implementation of new ideas and original projects. Participants to the Conference will learn about new tools and strategies that can be used in order to expand their international work, embrace green policies and anti-discriminatory guidelines in their work, will get up to date with the latest ideas on audience development, fundraising and philanthropy, communication and programming of innovative acts.

The European Jazz conference is composed of keynote speeches, debates, working groups and networking sessions, that will give the possibility to participants to connect with hundreds between the main jazz professionals in Europe. Moreover, every evening at the venue there will be showcases of the most interesting and innovative jazz ensembles in Hungary.

We look forward to meeting you all in Budapest!!
